I peeked with the 40 cm Cassegrain at Mercury a few days ago, when it was about this high above the horizon, I had to punch the magnification a lot before I was able to see it's moon-like shape.. You should try a long exposure with the moon, it's strange to see a moon trail

Thanks! Well it was really gr8 to see, when i realised and looked out my window. I only had a matter of 30 mins then to capture it as they were quickly setting! So I had to drive to the top of my village. walk into a field facing west, and then snap snap, just before they set behind those trees. Keep your eye out in the west after the sun has set. Mercury is around all month

That would've been an awesome sight! Weather around my parts has been dismal, so hopefully I'll have clear skies soon to catch a peek. Thanks for sharing this!

are the shapes in the dark side of the moon the moon itself or is it a jpg compression matter?

Sing me something soft
Sad and delicate
Or loud and out of key
Sing me anything
