I went to see Pearl Jam last night! They were so awesome! It didn’t sink in that I was actually going to see one of my all-time favourite bands until they walked on stage. I’ve been wanting to see them since I was about 13, which yeah, is a few moons ago now They played for two and half hours, which went far too quickly.

In other news….

I’ve decided to get my Canon 350D camera astro-modified. Ok, I’ve got a modified Nikon D50, but when using lenses the camera is unable to focus due to the removed infrared blocking filter not being replaced with a clear filter. I’ve looked into getting a clear filter for the Nikon, but it would cost nearly as much as getting a camera modified with a replacement clear filter! Plus I would almost definitely mess up trying to dissect the camera!

So, I’d like to capture some wide field images with camera lenses on a camera able to capture more infrared. Plus, I don’t really use it these days for ‘daytime’ photography.
I’ll be sending the camera away this week to Astronmiser and will probably have it ready next week, just in time for a new moon, so fingers crossed. If I can sell some stuff, i.e. the Nikon, I’ll get a 2nd hand 350 or 400 D to use in the day.

If all goes well I’m hoping I can capture the Milky Way with it before the summer’s over..…
